Janet Bang
Hello Windsong Heights School Families! My name is Janet Bang and I am very excited to be teaching grade one this year. I have been teaching in RVS for 22 years, with the last 4 at WHS as a literacy support and EAL teacher. My passion is for literacy! I love to see the joy and wonder as children unlock their reading potential and come into the world of print with confidence and excitement. Grade one is an amazing year of growth for children as they start full days of school and build stamina in all subject areas. I believe that strong instruction combined with intentional play helps children thrive and find balance. Let's have a great year at WHS! Go Wolves! You can reach me at:

Hello! My name is Ms. Virk and I will be teaching Grade 8 Social Studies, English Language Arts and Options. This will be my first year at Windsong Heights School! During the past five years, I have taught grades 5-8 and really enjoyed it. I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in the multidisciplinary/concurrent degree program. I am also currently completing my Masters at the University of Calgary. As a teacher, my educational philosophy includes promoting inquiry-based learning, encouraging multiliteracies, implementing technology in classroom instruction and creating a classroom community where collaboration and dialogue is encouraged. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies include reading books, travelling, playing volleyball and delivering groan-inducing puns on a regular basis. I am looking forward to an incredibly exciting, rewarding and productive year! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
